Torque Reduction

The shift-cut request the TCU sends the engine ECU during a shift: how much, for how long, and per shift type.

17 parameters: 9 documented, 8 not yet documented. 3 exist only on firmware 10.77.

TQ Reduction Table Selection

# 0x8E5 3×7

TQ Reduction Test

# 0x39AE 1×1

CAN 1

Torque reduction type (Only for OEM Can)

# 0x6876 1×1
During a shift the TCU asks the engine over CAN to drop torque, smoothing the shift and easing clutch stress; this picks how an OEM ECU executes that cut. 1 = fuel reduction only (diesel) or ignition retard only (petrol), 2 = the same plus a boost-pressure reduction, 0 = torque reduction off. Only for an OEM CAN profile (the engine-CAN codes 20 and up); the vendor lists BMW EXX and Mercedes 5G-Tronic, and on a standalone profile it does nothing.
The cut only lands if the engine ECU honours the request. No handshake means harsher, hotter shifts that the clutch calibration has to absorb.
Detail

0- Deactivation of torque reduction 1- For diesel: Fuel reduction only. For gasoline: Only the reduction of the ignition advance angle 2-For diesel: Reduction of fuel and boost Presssure. For gasoline: Reduction of the ignition advance angle and boost Presssure Works on BMW EXX series and Mercedes 5G-Tronic

Output 2

Torque Reduction Output

# 0x3131 1×1
Puts the shift torque-cut request on a hardwired AUX pin (1-12, 0 = off) for ECUs that take a wired cut input instead of CAN. The pin goes active when the torque-reduction table value drops below the threshold set next to it. AUX2 is pin 33 (low-side).

Torque Reduction Output threshold

# 0xE77 1×1
The trigger level for the torque-reduction output: the pin is active while the Torque Reduction Table value is below this threshold. The tables hold the percentage of torque kept (100% = no cut), so the output fires exactly while a cut is being requested.
